About me

Hi, I’m Liz. After qualifying as a Physiotherapist in 2013, I initially worked in the NHS, gaining experience in musculoskeletal, neurological and respiratory physiotherapy. I am a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and registered with the Health Care and Professions Council (HCPC). I later progressed to a Senior Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist within the private healthcare setting. Alongside this role, I developed a specialist interest in Clinical Pilates. In 2015, I started my Pilates training with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI). I later became a fully certified APPI Mat Pilates instructor. I have completed additional training in Reformer Pilates, from beginners to advanced level, and for the Antenatal and Postnatal populations.

My love of leading Physiotherapy led Pilates has continued to grow over the years. So, I took the plunge and I set out to open Poise Reformer Pilates in March 2020 solo. Although 2020 did not play out as initially planned (as I am sure we are all aware!), I was thrilled to open Poise fully from April 2021.

I believe Pilates should be available to all levels, catering to individual goals and most importantly delivered in a friendly and supportive atmosphere (we are not a ‘clicky’ reformer studio were you feel intimated on entry!). I have always thrived from being active and I was totally immersed in ballet from an early age. Ballet taught me poise, discipline and fuelled my desire to learn more about the human body and how it worked and likewise how it didn't!

Originally from Yorkshire I thoroughly enjoy the great outdoors. Running (rain or shine!), hiking in the Lakes and Peaks and of course time spent with the feet up, with a good book and a brew! I live in Manchester and I am an advocate for small, local businesses which help give our city its soul!
